She is the daughter of father Dennis Dash and mother Linda Dash. Dash has a younger brother Darien Dash. She is of Dash is of Bajan, African American, and Mexican ancestry. She completed her education from Paramus High School, Bergen County, New Jersey.
Dash gained fame for her role as Dionne Davenport in the film Clueless in 1995. She began her career as Michelle’s role on the television show The Cosby Show in 1995, and she made debut her film career with Antoinette Toni Briggs’s role in the movie Enemy Territory in 1987. She also starred as Michelle on the television series The Cosby Show in 1985, and she played Michelle Michaels’s role on the television show The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air in 1994.

Stacey started dating to Qamhat Maahes in 1988, and the couple split in 1990. Later, she began a relationship with singer Christopher Williams in 1990 and they have a child together, a son Austin Williams born on October 29, 1991. The couple broke up in 1992. She gave birth to a child together as daughter Lola Lovell on May 10, 2003, and the couple divorced in 2005. Dash also married to James Maby on February 26, 2005, and they divorced in 2006. Later, She started a relationship with actor Emmanuel Xuareb in 2006 and they knot on July 7, 2007. The couple officially got divorced on September 21, 2011.
