Alexander began dating to American film director Luka Pecel in 1999 and the couple got married on September 18, 1999. But, they divorced in 2000. After that, she started a relationship with Italian-American film director Edoardo Ponti in 2004, and they knot on August 11, 2007. They welcomed their first child as daughter Lucia Sofia in 2006, and she gave birth to her second child as son Leonardo Fortunato in 2010.
