Lauren Holly is an American-Canadian actress, who was born in Bristol, Pennsylvania, United States on 28 October 1963 as Lauren Michael Holly. She is the daughter of mother Michael Ann Holly, an art historian, and father Grant Holly, a screenwriter. Holly has two brothers Alexander Innes Holly and Nick Holly, a television producer. She studied at Geneva High School, and then she joined Sarah Lawrence College. She also attended the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.
Holly started dating to Italian actor Danny Quinn in 1991 and the couple got married the same year. They divorced in 1993. Later, she began a relationship with actor and comedian Jim Carrey, and they got married on 23 September 1996. The couple separated in 1997 and they divorced in the same year. After that, she started a relationship with investment banker Francis Greco in 2001, and the duo tied the knot on 10 March 2001. They have three sons Henry Greco, George Greco, and Alexander Joseph Greco, also an actor.
Lauren began her acting career with Carla Walicki’s role in the television series Hill Street Blues in 1984, and she played Lisa’s role in her debut film Seven Minutes in Heaven in 1985. She gained fame for her Maxine Stewart’s role in the television series Picket Fences from 1992 to 1996, and she is also known for Dr. Betty Rogers’s role in the television series Motive from 2013 to 2016. Holly portrayed NCIS Director Jenny Shepard’s role in the television series NCIS from 2005 to 2008, and she appeared as Mary Swanson in the film Dumb and Dumber in 1994.
