Katharine Bear Tur is an American author and broadcast journalist, known professionally as Katy Tur. She was born in Los Angeles County, California, United States on 26 October 1983. Tur is the daughter of mother Marika Gerrard, a journalist, and father Zoey Tur, a broadcaster. She has a younger brother James Tur. She studied at Brentwood School in Los Angeles, and then she joined the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Tur has been in a relationship with commentator Keith Olbermann from 2006 to 2009. Later, she started dating broadcaster Tony Dokoupil and the couple got married on 27 October 2017. She gave birth to their first child a son Teddy Dokoupil in 2019.
Katharine is well known for working as a correspondent for NBC News, and she began her career with the television show Today in August 2012. She is also an anchor of MSNBC Live and reports for a variety of other news platforms through NBC News and affiliates.
