Katie Holmes is an American actress, also known by her full name Katherine Noelle Holmes. She was born in Toledo, Ohio, United States on 18 December 1978. She is the daughter of mother Kathleen A. Stothers and father Martin Joseph Holmes, Sr., a lawyer. Holmes has a brother Martin Joseph Holmes, Jr., and three older sisters Nancy Kay Holmes, Holly Ann Holmes, and Tamera Holmes. She attended Notre Dame Academy in Toledo and then she went to Columbia University.

Holmes started dating actor Chris Klein in 2000 and the couple got engaged in December 2003. They separated in March 2005. Later, she began a relationship with actor Tom Cruise and they engaged in June 2005. The duo tied the knot on 18 November 2006, and she gave birth to their first child a daughter Suri Cruise on 18 April 2006. The couple divorced in 2012. Holmes dated actor and musician Jamie Foxx from 2013 to 2019.
