Kate Winslet is an English actress, who was born in Reading, Berkshire, England, United Kingdom on 5 October 1975, as Kate Elizabeth Winslet. She is the daughter of mother Sally Bridges-Winslet and father Roger Winslet, an actor. Kate has two sisters Anna Winslet and Beth Winslet, and a brother Joss Winslet. She completed her schooling from The Redroofs Theatre School.
Winslet had been in a relationship with actor Stephen Tredre from 1991 to 1995. She started dating to director Jim Threapleton, and the couple got married on 22 November 1998. She gave birth to their first child a daughter Mia Honey Threapleton on 12 October 2000, and they split in December 2001. Later, Kate started a relationship with director Sam Mendes and the duo tied the knot on 24 May 2003. They welcomed their first child a son Joe Mendes on 22 December 2003, and they divorced in 2010. Later, she started dating actor businessman Edward Abel Smith, and the couple got married in December 2012. She gave birth to their first child with Edward, as son Bear Blaze Winslet on 7 December 2013.
Career
Kate is very famous for her Rose DeWitt Bukater’s role in the blockbuster film Titanic in 1997, and for which she was nominated for the fifteen awards and she won four awards. She began her acting career with Reet’s role in the television series Dark Season in 1991, and she played Juliet Hulme’s role in her debut film Titanic in 1997. She also appeared as Hanna Schmitz’s role in the film The Reader in 2008, and she portrayed Marianne Dashwood’s role in the film Sense and Sensibility in 1995. Winslet also starred as Young Iris Murdoch’s role in the film Iris in 2001, and she played Clementine Kruczynski’s role in the film Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind in 2004.
