She is the daughter of mother Shelley Upton, a former Texas state tennis champion, and father Jeff Upton, a high school athletics director. Upton has two sisters Laura Upton and Christie Williams, and a brother David Upton. She attended Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy, Melbourne, Florida.
Upton began a relationship with baseball pitcher Justin Verlander in 2012 and the duo got engaged in April 2016. The couple got married on November 4, 2017, in Tuscany, Italy in the church.
Kate began her career with modeling and she is well known for her appearances in the “Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue” from 2011. She started her acting career with Mr. Hightower’s Mistress’s role in the film Tower Heist in 2011, and she appeared as Herself in her first television show Tosh.0 in 2011.
