Jennifer Tilly is an American actress and poker player, also known by her birth name Jennifer Ellen Chan. She was born in Harbor City, Los Angeles, California, United States on September 16, 1958. She is the daughter of father Harry Chan and mother Patricia Tilly. Her father is a used car salesman and mother is a Canadian schoolteacher and former stage actress. Her mother belongs to Irish and Finnish descent while her father is of Chinese ancestry. She has an older brother Steve Tilly and two younger sisters Meg Tilly and Rebecca Tilly. She graduated from Belmont High School and then she went to Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri.
Tilly started dating producer Sam Simon in 1983 and the couple got married in October 1984. But, the couple divorced in 1991. Later, she began a relationship with Filipino actor Lou Diamond Phillips in November 1990, and the couple split in January 1994. In 2004, she started a relationship with professional poker player Phil Laak.
Jennifer is very famous for Violet’s role in the film Bound in 1996 and she also popular for her role as Tiffany Valentine in the movie Bride of Chucky in 1998. She started her acting career with Laurie’s role in the television series Oh Madeline in 1983 and she started her career in films with Mona’s role in the movie No Small Affair in 1984. She starred as Samantha Cole’s role in the film Liar Liar in 1997. Jennifer also portrayed Olive Neal’s role in the movie Bullets over Broadway in 1994, and she was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for this role.
