Her mother is Jeanette D’Souza, was a managing director of the Pharma Multinational corporation, and her father is Neil D’Souza, a senior official with Tata Consultancy Services. She has a brother Nigel D’Souza. She completed her schooling at Apostolic Carmel High School, Bandra, Mumbai, and then she went to St. Andrew’s College, Bandra, Mumbai.
D’Souza began a relationship with actor Riteish Deshmukh in 2003 and the couple got married on 3 February 2012. They have two sons Riaan Deshmukh, born in 2014, and Rahyl Deshmukh, born in 2016.
Genelia began her acting career with Anjali’s role in the film Tujhe Meri Kasam in 2003, and she also appeared in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam films. She played Harini’s role in her first Tamil film Boys in 2003, and she appeared as Ankitha’s role in her debut Telugu film Satyam in 2003. She is well known for her Hasini Rao’s role in the Tamil film Bommarillu in 2006, and she also famous for her Hasini Govindan’s role in the Tamil film Santosh Subramaniam in 2008. D’Souza also appeared as Mini’s role in the movie Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya in 2012.
