Kasthuri is an Indian film actress and model, also known by her full name Kasthuri Shankar, who predominantly appears in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada films. She was born in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India on 1 May 1974. She is the daughter of father P.S. Shankar, an engineer, and mother Sumathi Shankar, an advocate. Shankar completed her higher education from Ethiraj College For Women.
Kasthuri got married to Ravikumar, and the couple has two children, a son Sankalp Ravikumar and a daughter Shobini Ravikumar.
Shankar began her career as a model and she is the winner of the Miss Madras 1992 beauty pageant, and she made debut her acting career with Kasthuri’s role in the Tamil film Aatha Un Koyilile in 1991. She made debut her career in Malayalam films with Praseetha’s role in the film Chakravarthy in 1991, and she played Bharathi’s role in her first Telugu film Nippu Ravva in 1993. She appeared as Kasturi in her debut Kannada film Jaana in 1994, and she appeared as a contestant in her first television show Mastermind India in 2000 in the Tamil language. Kasthuri gained fame as a contestant on the television show Bigg Boss Tamil 3 in 2019.
